Our Firm

What We Do

For almost 25 years, members of our firm have been focused on helping clients identify their concerns and risks, and planning to reduce or eliminate those concerns and risks.  We consider ourselves to be “risk management” attorneys.  Whether the source of the risk is: a fiscally irresponsible child; a child with addictions; a blended family; an anticipated nursing home stay; or a frivolous lawsuit (just to name a few), we have innovative solutions that provide our clients with peace of mind.  Virtually any goal is achievable through proactive planning.  That’s what we do.

Each attorney at Winburn, Wilson, Schrader & Shram spends significant time each year attending educational courses designed to keep our attorneys abreast of the current state of the law and the most advanced planning techniques available.  Our attorneys also frequently teach courses to professional and non-professional audiences.  Additionally, we are, in essence, members of a 4,000-person estate and business planning law firm by virtue of our membership in WealthCounsel, LLC, a national organization of estate planning attorneys who freely share their knowledge and experience.

We want to make clear that we take our practice very seriously.  We focus on helping clients reduce risk.  We do not handle divorces, personal injury cases, bankruptcies, criminal law, etc.  We feel that any attempt to handle matters outside our areas of expertise will serve merely as a distraction from those things at which we truly excel.

We also want to convey that the service we provide is our counsel and experience.  We don’t “sell paper.”  In choosing us as your attorneys, you are creating a relationship that we envision will last for your lifetime; you are choosing a attorney who will craft a plan that your family will live with after you are gone; and you are choosing an counselor upon whom your loved ones will depend during the very difficult time of your incapacity or death.
